Meeting Minutes
for August 5, 2003
Present were Erin Summerfield, Mark Summerfield, Scott
Hundley, Eldin Leighton, Ed Heberg, Jim Rose and Mark Toughiry
Open:
The August meeting was held at the small conference room of
the Great Falls Library. The President,
Erin Summerfield, called the meeting to order at 7:15.
Secretary’s Report:
- The
minutes of the July 3, 2003
meeting were reviewed
Treasurer’s Report:
- There
is not benefit to consolidate accounts due to low interest rates
- 80% of
dues are paid
- Discussed
using surplus funds to either improve neighborhood or reduce dues
Architectural Review Board:
- The
horizontal vinyl siding at 913 Challedon was approved
- The
house addition and deck enlargement at 10421 Shesue were both approved
- The
house addition at 10323 Eclipse Lane
was approved
- Suggest
the neighbors make a formal complaint regarding the dog at 10533 Brevity
- The
board will follow the resolution plan starting with a formal letter to
have the boat removed by August
14, 2003 at 10533 Brevity. If it is not removed by this date,
the boat owners will appear before the board at the September 2, 2003 meeting
Lands and Grounds Report:
- Discussed
having Sunrise do a Fall cleanup
and mulch twice per year
- Discussed
doing a sign and landscaping at the entrance on Shesue and Pensive
- Jim
Rose to look into alternative locations for a picnic area as adequate
parking facilities must be provided on community property. Suggested the possibility of private
property
Old Business:
- Checks
for driveway repairs are being collected with the indemnification clause
releasing the homeowner’s association from any liability
- Discussed
the possibility of increasing dues for a driveway repair fund
- The
block party will be Saturday September 6th from 2:00 to 6:00
with a rain date to be the following weekend. Board members will organize set up and
cleanup
New Business:
- The
association will petition VDOT to study the community regarding stop signs
to control excessive speed.
