Board of Directors
Meeting Minutes
March 2, 2004
Attendees: Scott Hundley, Eldin Leighton,
Mark and Erin Summerfield and Larry Goldfarb
Open: The
meeting was held at the small conference room of the Great Falls Library. The President, Scott Hundley, called the
meeting to order at 7:00pm
Secretary’s Report:
- The
minutes of the February 3 meeting were reviewed and approved.
Treasurer’s Report:
- BB&T,
which took over our account from First Virginia, does not accept double
signatures on checks. Spoke with
Wachovia and they met all our needs as a homeowners association. Opened a new account with Wachovia and
transferred some funds from BB&T.
Will close the BB&T account once all outstanding checks have
cleared.
- Payments
were made to the State Corporation Commission, Department of Professional
and Occupational Regulation (Real Estate Board), Website Host and
Webmaster
- A
donation of $100.00 was made to the “Friends of the Fireworks” on behalf
of the Association.
- Two
properties were given notice to pay their 2002 and 2003 outstanding dues,
before legal proceedings are started.
Architectural Review Board:
- Several
properties will be reviewed that have made changes to the exterior of
their homes and properties without prior written approval from the ARB. (i.e. paint color, erection of stone walls, etc.)
- One
property will be asked to remove the car from their lawn, as it is in
violation of our Bylaws and Covenants.
- One
property requested approval for new siding and windows, which was
approved.
- One
property has requested the approval for removal of some dead and dying
trees.
Lands and Grounds Report:
- Requested
quotes from Howard Landscapes for new work on the west entrance and new
east entrance to Lexington Estates.
Area Development:
- Howard
Landscapes will give an estimate for work on new playground area.
- Some
pros and cons were discussed, more detailed
discussions are scheduled for the April meeting.
Old Business:
- Pro-Pave
agreed to perform driveway overlays, repairs and sealing for 2004.
- Very
little interest was shown in having group rates for tree service or new
gas line installation to homes currently without gas.
New Business:
- Paul
Thorman has updated the website and has also placed Dranesville District
Supervisor Joan DuBois’ information on the website.
- Discussed
items for March 19 Spring Newsletter:
1. deadline for driveway overlays, repairs, and sealing
requests April 16.
2. date to be set by Ed Heberg
and Scott Hundley for spring clean-up.
3. date of April 24 at 8:00am
for Lexington Estates community yard sale.
