Meeting Minutes
April 6, 2004
Attendees: Scott Hundley, Jim Rose, Mark and Erin
Summerfield, Ed Heberg, Larry Goldfarb and
Mohsen Grayeli
Open: The
meeting was held at the large conference room of the Great Falls Library. The President, Scott Hundley, called the
meeting to order at 7:07pm
Secretary’s Report:
- The
minutes of the March 2 meeting were reviewed and approved.
Treasurer’s Report:
- BB&T
accounts were finally closed.
Wachovia now has all our accounts; most of the money is held in a
Money Market account.
- A
disclosure packet was sold for 10419 Shesue
Street.
- 10516
Brevity and 10408 Artemel were given notice to pay their 2002 and 2003
outstanding dues, before legal proceedings are started. Neither property owner has responded at
this time.
- The
Liability Insurance that currently covers the association,
will not cover Homeowner associations as of 12/1/04. A
new insurance company will be sought; several board members will split up
this search.
Architectural Review Board:
- Several
properties will be reviewed that have made changes to the exterior of
their homes and properties without prior written approval from the ARB:
they are 10522 Brevity (paint color) and 10413 Shesue (garage door paint
color)
- 1028
Challedon will be asked to remove the car from their lawn and 10410
Artemel will be asked to remove the trailer from their lawn, as they are
in violation of our Bylaws and Covenants.
- 1005
Challedon requested approval for a spa.
Will need to review the spa drawings and whether they meet Fairfax
County and LEXHOA
requirements. Need to ensure the
stone wall erected in the back was approved in the previous request.
- 1086
Pensive has submitted drawings for an addition of a two-car garage. Need to have a formal request in
writing.
- 1029
Challedon has requested the approval for removal of some dead and dying
trees and window replacement; both were approved.
Lands and Grounds Report:
- Ed
will set up the table for the May 23 spring clean up and also clean up
Brevity. Erin
will man the table as Ed has prior plans.
- Received
drawings and estimates from Howard Landscapes for new work on the west
entrance (Springvale/Brevity) and the new east entrance (Shesue at
Pensive) to Lexington Estates.
- Decided
to wait on the new east entrance and will ask for final drawings for the
west entrance and the playground area from Howard Landscapes.
- Sunrise
will continue the mowing, spring clean up, fall clean up and fall
mulching. We won’t be using Sunrise
for the plantings anymore.
Community Area Development:
- Some
pros and cons were discussed regarding the playground area. A questionnaire will be created and more
prices finalized and the residents will be petitioned for their input.
- Acquiring
prices for insurance to cover the new playground area.
- Only
require a grading permit, if the area is over 2500 sq.ft, which it
currently is not planned for.

- Scott
will place an ad in the Washington Post to advertise the community yard
sale planned for April 24.
