Meeting Minutes
for August 3, 2004
Present were Scott Hundley, Eldin Leighton, Jim Rose, Paul
Thorman, Laura Fasching, Joel Prostick and Lenny Smith
Open:
The August meeting was held at the small conference room of
the Great Falls Library. The President,
Scott Hundley, called the meeting to order at 7:10.
Secretary’s Report:
- The
minutes of the July 19, 2004 meeting were reviewed and approved
Treasurer’s Report:
- The
Treasurer’s Report was read by President Scott Hundley as Mark Summerfield
was not present
- Of the
125 homes 88 have paid their homeowners dues
- Shenandoah
Landscapes was paid for mowing the common area on the Shesue pipe stem
- Orozco
Landscaping was paid for the front entrance clean up
- The
Association’s Law Firm, Troutman Sanders, was paid for legal proceedings
for the lien on lot 006.
Architectural Review Board:
- The
color swatches for 10522 Brevity were approved
Lands and Grounds Report:
Old Business:
- The
owners from the Shesue pipe stem agreed to the following conditions for
the community party September 18, 2004:
- No
vehicular (including tractors) traffic on the pipe stem other than for
set up and cleanup of the community party
- No
porta-potty as the Fasching’s offered the use of their bathroom in their
home for use during the party
- The
homeowners association will not construct a path to the common area at
this time
- The
pipe stem owners will continue mowing the common area at their own expense
- Any
damage caused by the community party to the pipe stem will be covered by
the homeowners association
- The
homeowners association does not intend to promote any other organized
social or athletic event on this common land with the exception of this
annual community party
New Business:
- Paul
Thorman mentioned additional areas that the trees need to be trimmed and
also adding a Lexington Estates sign at the end of Pensive similar to the
one proposed on the corner of Shesue and Pensive
- Paul
Thorman mentioned the excessive number of real estate signs in the
community
- Jim
Rose developed a survey for the proposed community playground. Further community feedback is needed to
determine the feasibility of the playground
- Improving
the school property and parkland area was discussed. Jim Rose will look in to this. It seems
that Reston needs a new high school and the School Board is looking into
swapping land with Fairfax County Park Authority. The playing fields at Wiehle and Baron
Cameron would be used for the new high school and the school sites on
Pensive would be exchanged with the Park Authority for playing field
usage.
